Casa Rose

Casa Rose Trancoso is not a Hotel per se, but a fully serviced house instead, located in the beautiful town of Trancoso - a well-liked place for individuals seeking time off. It is a popular town for its elite parties during New Year, but outside of the high peaks, it is a calm, relaxed place.

The House is fully equipped and taken care of by Nai daily. She makes sure the house is clean and tidy while Bira takes care of the pool. As a guest, you have the option of also booking a cook - be it daily or only on selected days, for breakfast and meals. We had Jujuh coming over on a few chosen days. Fully served breakfasts - the type you could sit around for hours - mouthwatering meals with local ingredients, cooked with love and care. We felt extremely comfortable and filled with love—a perfect vacation for all of us.

The House has four suites, each with a queen bed protected by a net to give you a mosquito-free night of sleep and a private bathroom. A spacious living room with an open kitchen, a dining table indoors and outdoors, two pools and more than enough spaces to relax, all divided into three levels and surrounded by local vegetation 💚

Casa Rose is a 10min walk away from the beach and a 10min walk away from the “Quadrado” when walking in the opposite direction. Quadrado, the word for a square in Portuguese, is the small local centre, with boutique stores and various restaurants, with the church São João Batista as the main point of reference.

Behind the church, you’ll be able to admire a panoramic view of the ocean and nature surrounding Trancoso.

The region offers the opportunity for further exploration- be it by car, quadricycle or boat. We chose to try out the quadricycle for a day to discover other beaches and were amazed by them. Seeing everything the surrounding has to offer, one feels like staying longer and continuing exploring. So much to see.

If you’re lucky, you’ll see some other local inhabitants- monkeys, crabs, sea turtles and dolphins. Whales are also popular to be seen in the region.

It is a trendy place, but the time we were there, it was somewhat out of season. We got out on unpopular times, experiencing a nature-rich vacation, encountering locals and enjoying the simple art of being.
